Plotvera and AI

Plotvera. Disclosure version 0.2, effective 23 Oct 2026.

AI features in Plotvera are optional and off until you turn them on. The assistant starts offline: its offline guidance makes no network request. Nothing is sent to an AI provider until you add a key and switch online AI on, or connect your own Claude or ChatGPT through the connector.

The hosted assistant has three states, and the AI settings panel shows which one applies:

What is sent

With online AI switched on, a request can include:

This can reveal information derived from the raw cells even when the raw table is not sent. Do not send patient-identifiable, confidential or export-controlled material unless your organisation has approved it.

Your own key is kept in the browser's sessionStorage for the tab's session and passes through Plotvera's relay to the provider for each request. It is not intended to be logged or stored by Plotvera's server, and anything shaped like a key is removed from error messages.

What Anaphase keeps

For requests with your own key, Plotvera's relay keeps nothing beyond the hosting provider's standard request logs (time, path, status, network address). If the hosted assistant is switched on, Anaphase would keep a usage record for each hosted request (time, model, token counts, outcome), not the prompt, the context or the answer, for 90 days. Anaphase does not use your content to train models.

What the provider keeps depends on the provider's own terms. With your own key, your agreement with the provider applies; OpenAI requests are sent with store: false. The terms Anaphase would rely on for the hosted assistant will be summarised here, with a link and the date they were checked, before it is switched on.

Limits

AI output can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. AI suggestions are drafts for you to check. They are not a statistical, scientific or clinical review, and Plotvera does not mark AI output as checked or approved. Actions the assistant proposes appear in your project with an Undo button, and risky changes wait for you to confirm. If the hosted assistant is switched on, hosted requests will be limited per network address (30 an hour and 100 a day).

Connectors (MCP)

Plotvera can also be used from an AI assistant you already use (Claude or ChatGPT) through its connector at mcp.plotvera.app. The assistant's provider receives whatever the connector returns to it, which can include table contents, results and graph images, under your agreement with that provider. The relay stores no project data. See the privacy notice (/privacy) for how the connector link and its secret work.
